Associate Professor Dr. Boonyarat Chokbandanchai, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Naresuan University, attended a royal audience with His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Fumihito, Prince Akishino of the Japanese Imperial Family, who graciously received the Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy in Animal Science from Naresuan University.
On February 27, 2025, His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Fumihito, Prince Akishino, visited the Somdej Phra Naresuan Maharat Park Building at Naresuan University in Mueang Phitsanulok District, Phitsanulok Province. The ceremony was honored by the presence of Professor Emeritus Dr. Prasit Watanapa, President of the University Council of Naresuan University, Associate Professor Dr. Sarinthip Tantanee, Acting President of Naresuan University, along with university administrators, faculty members, and students who gathered to welcome His Imperial Highness.
His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Fumihito has made outstanding academic contributions to the study and research of chickens, particularly native chickens, jungle fowls, and domestic chickens. He has traveled to Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries multiple times to collect and analyze samples, personally conducting in-depth research on the multifaceted relationship between humans and chickens. His work has systematically explained the evolution of jungle fowls into domestic chickens, and his scholarly research has been continuously published in international academic journals.
Recognizing his exceptional expertise in animal science, which has been widely acknowledged at the international level, the Naresuan University Council unanimously resolved to confer upon His Imperial Highness the Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy in Animal Science as a tribute to his remarkable achievements.
